"We did it with hard work, sensible intelligent eating, and an amazing game of accountability we call The F.A.S.T. Diet!"

The Dean Family in New York City, Winter 2007.

Meet the Kings and Queens of Fatland

Our entire lives, all 8 of us have been somewhere between fat and obese. When we started this journey, our average height was 5-feet 4-inches tall, and our average weight was about 215 lbs. No one in the family had an athletic background, nor were any of us supermodel material. We are everyday, hardworking people who have spent our whole lives jumping from diet to diet, but never finding the real solution to getting and staying healthy once and for all.

That all changed when we lost 501 lbs in 2006. It wasn’t easy though; losing weight never is. Regardless, this very average group found a way to do it and are now sharing their secrets with the nation.

When we started this journey, Mike and Sheila Dean (Mom and Dad) were both obese and approaching 300 lbs each. Sheila had failed at countless diets and succeeded at a few others, only to gain the weight right back a few months later. Mike would eat almost nonstop and had never stepped into a gym at any point in his life. Between the two of them they have lost more than 150 lbs, and are as healthy as they were when their first child was born almost 40 years ago. Plus, they still work out every day!

When we started this program we referred to ourselves as the Kings and Queens of Fatland, because that is exactly what we were. Those names no longer apply; though others have surfaced. Mike is now known as the "Sultan of the Treadmill," because he can burn 1050 calories in 1 hour (and he is 60 years old!). Sheila can burn nearly 900 calories in an hour and she is 56. Their story is told in detail in our book, and it is incredibly motivating.

Tony, Tracy and Tina all had the least to lose at about 35 lbs each. Tina had never run a day in her life, and now runs ½ marathons (and everywhere else—even in pouring rain). She is known as "Run Tina Run." Tracy works full time like most of America, and she managed to juggle a large family, a full time job and school while she was losing weight. Tony, the primary author of the book, "The FAST Diet" created the majority of the principles we currently use every day. His zeal to see people succeed in any and every situation has earned him the title, "The Meanest Man in Dieting." Believe me, it is a well-deserved title!

Jamie, Jeremy and Julie all had significant amounts of weight to lose. Jamie, also known as the "Sultaness" because she can burn 1100 calories in 1 hour on the treadmill, lost 100 lbs and is still working on finishing her journey. Jamie has one of those difficult bodies that fights for every pound. You can learn so much from her; she struggles but still perseveres. Julie is a single mom who loses weight even with all the obstacles that would go along with raising a child alone; and yet every day she gets healthier. Jeremy has been on a weight loss/gain roller coaster his entire life. He finally has it under control and is anxious to teach others.

As you can see, we are just a regular group of people. If we had not accidentally found the secret ingredient to losing weight, we would still be overweight and struggling, like you are right now. Don’t lose faith! There is hope, and your first step toward getting healthy could start tomorrow. Click Here and tell us why you should be the next FAST Diet success story.
